What's Happening
Chrome updated its security settings. It now asks for permission before letting websites talk to apps on your computer (like QZ Tray for label printing).
Step 1: Allow the Chrome Popup
When you see a Chrome popup mentioning "local network access" or "apps on this device", click Allow.
Do NOT click "Block" or dismiss it 3 times — that will completely disable label printing until it's manually fixed.
Step 2: Update QZ Tray to 2.3.0 or newer
- Go to qz.io/download
- Download and install QZ Tray 2.3.0 or newer (accept all the defaults)
- Restart Chrome after installing
- Open CyclePower. If QZ Tray or Chrome asks to allow the connection, click Allow / Remember this decision
- Print one test label to confirm — the yellow "needs a QZ Tray update" bar disappears once a printing page connects
Step 3 (Optional): Permanent Fix — Skip the Popup Forever
Run this command in Command Prompt as Administrator on each PC. It tells Chrome to always allow warehouse.cyclecrew.com to connect to QZ Tray — no popup needed.
REG ADD "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Google\Chrome\LocalNetworkAccessAllowedForUrls" /v 1 /t REG_SZ /d "warehouse.cyclecrew.com" /f
After running this, restart Chrome. The popup will never appear again on that PC.
If Printing Already Broke
- Click the lock icon (or tune icon) in Chrome's address bar
- Find "Local network access" or "Insecure content"
- Change it to Allow
- Refresh the page
